Contemporary Painter

I am a native Southern Californian who grew up in the L.A. area. As a young girl I thrived in art sessions in school. Report card notes between teachers and my parents remarked on my love of art. A key form of fun with my childhood friends was drawing little sketches and stories to make each other laugh, a practice I’ve kept up to this day. In high school I received art appreciation classes blending art-making with a study of noted artists throughout time. Later in college I enrolled in an art class that had me working in acrylic and mixed media. Another favorite college course was technical sketching. It trained me to sketch straight lines freehand and draw realistically.

Art exploration was set aside for a few decades as I studied for and became an engineer. I worked full time while raising a family. Home time was punctuated with art sessions I’d create for the children but my own practice was shelved until they were older.

At that point I found an online watercolor art group to join. It presented projects the group would do simultaneously. We would post our work, commenting and encouraging each other. Later I took classes from local San Diego watercolor artists including Linda Doll, Tom Tiedmann and John Yato. Most recently I have taken acrylic and mixed media courses from Louise Fletcher.

I am a member of the Foothills Art Association and the San Diego Watercolor Society. My work has been exhibited at the Foothills Art Association gallery in La Mesa throughout 2026.
